The star Lambda Scorpii, also called Shaula is a multiple star system in the constellation of Scorpius. It is located at the sting of the Scorpion.

The star Lambda Scorpii has an apparent magnitude of 1.62mag, making it one of the 50 brightest stars in the night sky. Lambda Scorpii is a blue-white star which is about 600 light-years away and belongs to spectral class B2. Also Lambda Scorpii is a member of Gould's Belt, which is a two thousand light-year large arrangement of young stars and star forming regions. Lambda Scorpii is a multiple star system with three visible components: Lambda Scorpii A is a subgiant of spectral type B and Lambda Scorpii B is only 42 arc seconds away from A. The age of the system is estimated to be between 10 and 13 million years.
